AXIOM Global Entertainment Wire

Version 1.0 · In force from [GO-LIVE DATE] · Last updated 4 September 2026

Draft — not in force. This page is a working draft, published here so it can be read and checked. It has not yet been reviewed by a qualified solicitor, it does not bind you or us, and it may change before it takes effect.

Passages HIGHLIGHTED LIKE THIS are blanks that have still to be filled in.

  5. 5. Right of reply and correction
  6. 6. Requests to remove personal data

1. Our position in one paragraph

The Wire reproduces headlines and short extracts from other people's journalism, and links to it, in order to send readers to the source. Those headlines and extracts remain the copyright of their publishers. If we have gone further than we should have with your material, we would rather you told us than sued us, and this page is how you tell us. We act on complete notices quickly and we do not make people fight for it.

2. Our own rights

The Wire, its software, design, taxonomy, editorial method, the text we author, and the databases behind it are owned by Colibri Holdings Ltd or licensed to us.

Database right. The story archive, the deals ledger and the company register are databases in which we assert sui generis database right under the Copyright and Rights in Databases Regulations 1997 and equivalent rights elsewhere. Extraction or re-utilisation of the whole or a substantial part, and repeated extraction of insubstantial parts amounting to the same, is prohibited.

Reservation against text and data mining. We expressly reserve all rights in the Wire's content against text and data mining, scraping, and the training or development of machine learning and generative AI systems, including for the purposes of Article 4(3) of Directive (EU) 2019/790. This reservation is machine-readable in our robots.txt. Access to the Wire, by any technical means, grants no licence for those purposes.

Trade marks. "AXIOM", "AXIOM Global Entertainment Wire" and "AXIOM Global Entertainment Index", and our logos, are our marks. [CONFIRM: the trade-mark registration status.] Third-party names and marks appearing in the Wire belong to their owners and are used to identify the companies reported on. That use is nominative and implies no association or endorsement.

3. Reporting infringement of your rights

Send a notice to hello@axiom.vc, with subject line "Takedown notice".

What a notice must contain

  1. Your name, address, email and telephone number.
  2. Whether you are the rights owner or authorised to act for them, and the name of the owner.
  3. Identification of the work — for a story, the article's URL and headline; for an image, where it was published.
  4. The exact location on the Wire: the page URL and the story, row or item identifier. Every story on the Wire has a permalink; use it.
  5. What you want: removal, a shorter extract, different attribution, or a link change.
  6. A statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised by you, your agent or the law.
  7. A statement that the information in the notice is accurate.
  8. Your electronic or physical signature.

What we do, and when

StepTiming
We acknowledge receipt1 working day
We assess and, where the notice is complete and well-founded, actWithin 5 working days, and same-day where the complaint is clear
We tell you the outcome and the reasonWith the action

Where the complaint is clear and the fix is cheap, we will act first and discuss afterwards. Removing a paragraph costs us nothing; being wrong costs us a relationship with a publication we depend on.

Repeat infringement. Where a source repeatedly produces complaints we cannot resolve, we remove it from the Wire's sources.

Counter-notice

If we remove something and you believe we were wrong, write to the same address with your reasons. We will reconsider and reply.

4. If you are a publisher

The Wire exists to send readers to your reporting. Every story names you and links to you, and we count and report which publications readers actually click through to.

If you would like:

  • your material removed from the Wire — say so, and we will remove it and stop reading your feed;
  • your extracts shortened, or your summary replaced with a headline and link only;
  • different attribution, a different display name, or a canonical link;
  • to talk about syndication or a licence, which we would much rather do than have this conversation the other way round;

write to hello@axiom.vc. A named person answers.

5. Right of reply and correction

Separate from copyright: if the Wire has reported about you or your company and the reporting is wrong, unfair or incomplete, the route is the corrections process in Editorial Standards and Corrections, and it is faster than this one.

In summary: we check the claim against the source; we correct anything wrong and record the correction; where the disagreement is about interpretation we will record your position on the row, attributed to you; and we tell you what we decided and why. We will not remove accurate, lawfully published reporting because it is unwelcome, and we will say so plainly rather than going quiet.

6. Requests to remove personal data

If your objection is that your personal data should not be there, the route is Annex B to Privacy Policy, and the address is hello@axiom.vc. We will tell you whether we are relying on the exemption for journalism, and why.

7. Court orders and legal process

Formal notices, court orders and pre-action correspondence should go to Colibri Holdings Ltd at its registered office (see Legal and Company Information), with a copy to hello@axiom.vc so that we see it promptly.

8. Our hosting position

The Wire is not a hosting platform. Nothing published on it is user-generated: submissions from readers — events, corrections, bug reports — go to an editor and nothing publishes without a person reviewing it. We are therefore the publisher of what appears on the Wire and do not rely on the defences available to intermediaries. That is a deliberate choice: an editor stands behind every row.
